Astrologers from the east saw a new star and knew a king had been born. They packed up gold, frankincense, myrrh, and headed for Jerusalem.
Herod, the paranoid local king, asked his scholars where the Messiah would be born. Bethlehem. He told the wise men, 'Find Him, then come tell me so I can worship too.' (He was lying.)
They found Jesus, worshipped Him, gave the gifts, and a dream warned them not to go back to Herod. They went home a different way.
