God appeared to young King Solomon in a dream: 'Ask for whatever you want.' Solomon asked for wisdom to govern. God was so pleased He threw in wealth, honor, and a long life on top.
First test: two women, one living baby, both claiming it. Solomon ordered the baby cut in half. The real mother screamed, 'Give it to her!' Solomon handed her the child. Case closed.
He went on to build the temple, write Proverbs, host the Queen of Sheba, and become the wealthiest king in history.
