He Rebuilt the Walls of Jerusalem in Fifty-Two Days With Enemies at Every Gate

Nehemiah, cupbearer to the Persian king, heard Jerusalem's walls were still rubble decades after the exile. He wept, fasted, then asked the king for time off and supplies.

He rode into Jerusalem, surveyed the ruins at night, and rallied every family to rebuild the section in front of their own house. Enemies threatened, mocked, plotted assassinations.
