Fifteen Thousand People. One Boy's Lunch. Twelve Baskets Left Over.
A crowd of 5,000 men — plus women and children, so probably 15,000+ people — had followed Jesus into the middle of nowhere. It was getting late. Nobody had food.
The disciples did the math: eight months of wages wouldn't cover one bite each. Andrew found a boy with five small barley loaves and two little fish and basically apologized for mentioning it.
Jesus had everyone sit down on the grass in groups. He took the kid's lunch, looked up to heaven, thanked God, and started breaking it.
Everyone ate as much as they wanted. When they collected leftovers, there were TWELVE basketfuls — more food at the end than at the start. From one boy's lunchbox.
