Elijah challenged 450 prophets of Baal to a contest on Mount Carmel. Two altars. Two bulls. Whichever god answers with fire is the real one.
Baal's team danced, screamed, and cut themselves all morning. Nothing. Elijah mocked them โ 'Maybe your god is on the toilet.' Then he rebuilt his altar and dumped twelve jars of water on it.
He prayed one sentence. Fire fell from the sky, consumed the bull, the wood, the stones, the dirt, and licked up the water in the trench. The crowd dropped to its knees.
